{Color Theory} Original Palettes v.IV

Modern Valentine: Ivory, dark red and warm gray mix together and introduce us to the traditional Valentine’s Day palette’s older, more sophisticated big sister. Use these colors for an elegant February wedding where rose centerpieces sit as your centerpieces and sparkling crystals hang from the chandeliers.

Jungle Greens: Turquoise and hunter green pair well with this burnt orange and rosy pink to bring us a great summer or early fall color combination. For this, think outdoor, like maybe a wedding deep in the woods with lots of natural element details. It’s a different, more colorful take on the “natural” brown and green combo that’s been traveling around the internet lately.

Happy Wednesday!

Florals

Posted on Feb 21 2012 by Stephanie

Winter, spring, summer, or fall, florals are becoming popular all year round. It’s a lovely motif. Why? Well, it’s familiar, but can be designed to be totally personal to you and your fiance. They can be classy enough to accompany a formal invitation or casual enough to be on a backyard wedding invitation. Check out a few of our favorites.

How do you think florals can be incorporated into the wedding decor (besides, of course, the actual flowers=]) Share with us some creative ideas!

{Color Theory} Original Palettes V.III

Fly Away Sunrise: A combination of two different sky blues, sunrise pink and light purple. This would work well for a spring or summer wedding when you’re looking for sunrise color scheme without being overly sunrise-y. Also, it will help if the groom doesn’t mind a little girlyness involved (pinks and purples) :)

Beach Grays: This cloudy blue, dark slate and light gray all have a hint of gray to them which makes them work together really well. Any winter wedding would benefit from this color palette. But, if you’re headed to the beach, this could also work with a sandy yellow thrown in there for a perfect non-traditional beachy feel.

Thanks so much for coming back week after week for our inspired color posts. Please let us know what you think of them and if you’ve found them helpful! Our blog readers are the best =) Happy Wednesday!

Last week’s Color Theory revamp was a greeeat success! We’re continuing it on with a second installation of original color palettes. Enjoy!

~*~

Light Rain: Mostly neutrals with a pop of bright blue. This would look great at a late summer wedding near the beach. The darker brown is also a nice transition color to use this palette in early autumn (darker hues work well in fall and winter).

Pink Flower: Lime green, a very light shade of pink, and the ever popular pink-based coral. This would be great for those brides who looooove springtime and perhaps are a tad bit preppy =). Coral also works very well with blue!

Let us know what you think of these, and be sure to come back next week for two more originals. Happy Wednesday!
